The founder of BrainAwareness GBG is Dr Ranjita Dutta Roy, who was born in Gothenburg and attended Fjällboskolan and Göteborgs Högre Samskola. She holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc in Bioengineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg as well as an M.Sc. in Biomedicine from Karo

The founder of BrainAwareness GBG is Dr Ranjita Dutta Roy, who was born in Gothenburg and attended Fjällboskolan and Göteborgs Högre Samskola. She holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc in Bioengineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg as well as an M.Sc. in Biomedicine from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. She performed her Ph.D. studies in Neurobiology at Karolinska Instititutet and Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, and over the years she has done research at different institutions such as the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Singapore, the European Bioinformatics Institute in Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, the Institut Curie in Paris, and Saint Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. She has worked with synaptic transmission since 2008, and has both experimental and computational knowledge. Alongside this initiative, Dr Dutta Roy is currently taking teaching and psychology courses. She likes spending her free time practicing Hindustani Classical Music.
